Hello there guys! As promised, the iCash Management System for March 2015 is already here! Feel the luck as we unleash our potential in managing our cash everyday with iCash Management System v8.0.0 for the month of March 2015.
SHORT BACKGROUND:
While
using the iCMS 7N and 1A, I have realized that all I see were numbers and
letters in a group of cells that gives information about my daily transactions.
This is why I have conceptualized another feature for the iCMS 8 version
series.
So I introduce to you, the iCash Management System 8G: a great iCMS for a better
expenditure management.
There were several reasons why the
iCMS is called 8G. There would be a Great
change in the file because it became a Giant
file in terms of size that ranges from 12.0 MB or more.[1] The other
reasons will be discussed further in the later part of this post.
FEATURES:
The
iCMS 8G is composed of three (3) sheets:
Transactions; Financial Statements, and the
all-new Graphs. The system will be
covered in green and data will have the Tekton
Pro font in the celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day.
Starting from v8.0.0 A,
Graphs sheet will be available. Found in this sheet are four (4) giant graphs that will automatically
plot selected data entered in the first sheet (Transactions). Graphs are the
main features of iCMS 8G.

First Graph |
First graph is the Daily Unrestricted Cash Payments which
will plot your Total Cash Paid by Allowance every day for the whole month. This
would also give graphical representation of data seen on the Percentage Table
(on the Second Sheet). For v8.0.0 A, the graph will be in green.

Second Graph |
The second graph will be the Cash Inflow and Outflow which will
summarize the Cash inflow and outflow in a day for the whole month. For v8.0.0
A the graph would be in teal color.

Third Graph |
The third graph is the Earnings Balance chart which will give
graphical representation of the changes in Earnings Balance (found in the
Summary Section in the First Sheet). For v8.0.0 A, the graph would have the red
fill color.

Fourth Graph |
The last but definitely not the
least is the Cash Balances which
will graph the changes in your cash recorded in the first sheet and shown in
the second sheet. This graph would help users easily see the relative changes
in their cash from day-to-day transactions. It is yellow in color.
The
Second sheet will have a new user interface. The section gained the
classification columns just like in the previous versions’ Classification
columns feature in the first section. The classification columns are still
present in the first section. Because of this change, The “Receipts for
Prepayments”, “Cash Advances”, and “Fund/Obligations” columns were removed and
were replaced by two columns that were named as “For Prepayments/ Advances/
Fund under a new division: “Other Cash Receipts and/or Restrictions”
(previously known as Restricted Cash). In effect, the “Other Cash Payments”
Division’s version 7 series' categories were removed and was replaced by a category
“Prepayments/ For Advances/ Funded” occupying two pairs of columns. Therefore,
users can only record two cash receipts and/or allocations and two other cash
payments in a day.
The Other Cash Payments Total was
removed since it can be seen on the second sheet’s percentage table to give the
latter more purpose to look for. In addition, the classifications on the second
section were different from the first section. The list of classification
identifier will be discussed in the Rules, Guides, and Tips for iCMS 8G
post.
All of these changes were made because based
on my experience there were lesser transactions were recorded in the second
sheet and having a large area makes it dull.
Starting
from iCMS 8G, the number of rows will be fixed. [2] For iCMS 8G, you
will be seeing dates April 1 to 4 to complete the week where March 29-31 falls
but the previous dates will be in gray
color and are not eligible to be selected since they belong to the next month. Then
you will expect for the iCMS version on April, March 29-31 will be seen but
will be an accessory on the iCMS on April.
The
iCMS 8G will be having the double version namely: 8G version A and 8G version
B. The usual version of iCMS will be version A and the version B will be
released soon.[3] The version B of iCMS 8G will be further discussed
during its release. (As of today, February 22, 2015, I am finalizing the system of version B because it has more complex formulas compared to version A.)
OTHER FEATURES:
Starting from iCMS 8G, Sections together with its Divisions and/or Categories would have the same theme. This means that there were five themes that correspond to the five sections of the first section. The theme colors for the sections would be the following:
SECTION
NAME
|
THEME
COLOR(S)
|
Transactions Involving Unrestricted Cash
|
Deep Sea Theme (Dark Blue; Blue)
|
Other Cash Transactions
|
Gold-White Theme
|

|

|
Fire Theme (Red; Yellow)
|

As each
Section gains uniform theme colors, the User Interface (UI) also have uniform
color. All data entered on the cells where users are allowed to enter data will
have the same format whenever section you are in.
Modified Borders and
Additional Data
The
thick borders have a different color instead of the usual black color. For iCMS
8G, the borders would be Blue. The borders are applied to the first two sheets
of the system.
Additional
data were added on the Average Bottom Row. The Earnings Balance and the Cash on
Hand Balance would have their average per day and average on weekly total. Added
average on the Actual Cash and it would be compared as well.

The Peso Signs in the Second Sheet |
Since I have updated the Operating System of my laptop, I am looking for the ‘Php’ symbol on the currency but I cannot see it so I browsed the list then I found out that the Excel would have the ‘Peso Sign’ (₱)[4] so I have applied the sign all throughout the system. For those who are currently using Windows 8.1 Pro just like me, the peso sign will be seen on the system. I am not sure if it would be available in windows 8 or in Office 2013.
The
date’s column for the first sheet was increased in size to make the dates
complete and more recognizable.
Modified Second Sheet

Another
is the space gap between the weekly total and the Percentages were removed so
that there were lesser blank spaces on the second sheet.
